to the Homeless.
The Commission on Homelessness is made up of homeless service providers, community advocates, and city and county leaders working to alleviate and ultimately end homelessness in Greater Evansville.
What We're Working On
Joint Crisis Team
In 2024, we formalized E3 (Educate, Encourage, Enforce), an initiative that brings together ECHO Housing & Community Development, Aurora, EPD's Crime Prevention Unit and Southwestern Behavioral Health to provide quicker response to individuals in crisis situations.
Homeless Contact Form
We worked with EPD to create a homeless contact form to quickly engage homeless services when officers identify individuals experiencing homelessness who need help.
Free Food List
We published a comprehensive list of food pantries, hot meals and free little pantries on our website.
5-Year Strategic Plan
In 2025, we'll finalize our 5-year strategic plan to alleviate homelessness in Vanderburgh County.
Homeless Connect
We'll hold our 17th Homeless Connect on April 3. The annual event provides actual services on-site to anyone in need. Last year, Homeless Connect helped nearly 700 individuals.
Dignity EVV
We launched Dignity EVV, a fund that gives community members a way to directly support the homeless and off-set costs of Homeless Connect.
Care Connection Form
We'll launch our new Care Connection Form, available on our website so that community members can help connect individuals experiencing homelessness to services.
