The Re-Entry Network of Vanderburgh County (REN) functions as a subcommittee of the Commission on Homelessness, who oversees Destination: Home; Evansville’s ten year plan to end homelessness. The REN operates as a community collaboration of over 30 agencies and organizations whose objectives are work to develop a seamless system of non-duplicated services for individuals being released from correctional facilities and systems.
The REN understands the importance of safely reducing jail incarceration particularly focusing on the low-income and other at-risk populations. Although the REN’s focus is on individuals being released from incarceration, we also recognize the need for the implementation of alternatives.
The REN meets monthly, alternating with the general group meeting every other month, and the core groups meeting every other month.
